A memorial gathering for Thomas F. Koepke, 85, of Davenport, will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 22, 2018 at the Cunnick-Collins Mortuary in Davenport. A graveside service with military honors will follow immediately at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Please be casual in your dress. Thomas passed away on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at the Good Samaritan Health Care Center in Davenport.
Thomas Frank Koepke was born on February 26, 1933 in Davenport, IA, the son of Herman and Julia (Nagle) Koepke. After graduating from Davenport High School he was drafted into the United States Army and honorably served in the Korean Conflict. On December 6, 1957 he married Marilyn J. Dohrmann in Muscatine, IA. They were committed to each other for 60 wonderful years. Tom was employed as a truck driver at Brammer Manufacturing for 44 years. He was very proud that he never missed a day of work or was late during his entire employment.
Tom loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He loved to hunt and fish but his pigeons were his true passion. He was a member of the Quad City Pigeon Club. Tom will be remembered for his strong work ethic and dedication to his family. He dedicated his life to teach his children the value of a dollar and not take that for granted. He will be remembered too for his gentle smile that made you smile back. He never asked for much but always provided wisdom and understanding.
He is survived by the love of his life, his Wife: Marilyn; his Children: Mark (Nancy), Susan and Michelle, Larry (Maureen), and Brad (Janette); Grandchildren: Heather, Brandon, Jordan, Michelle, Desiree, Christopher, Kevin, Brady, and Ava; Great-grandchildren: Kylee, Kason, Rylan, and Emma.
He was preceded in death by his parents Herman and Julia.
He will be missed and forever loved.
