Ruth A. Palmatier Reyes

Ruth A. Reyes, 68, of Rock Island, died Friday, March 18, 2011 at Trinity Rock Island. Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at 11:30 am at The Runge Mortuary. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4-8 pm at the mortuary. Cremation rites will follow her services. Memorials may be made to the American Heart or Lung Association. Ruth was born June 11, 1942 in Joplin, Missouri, the daughter of Eugene and Virginia (Brooks) Palmatier. She was united with Sergio Reyes in 1967 and married him on February 10, 1979 in Rock Island. Ruth worked at Y & S Candy Company in Moline and later worked at Augustana until she retired in 2005.

She enjoyed reading, crocheting and sewing, but, her greatest joy was spending time with her family.

Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Sergio, Rock Island, daughters: Tammy Reyes, Rock Island; Tracy Reyes, Hillsdale, IL; Reina Reyes, Rock Island; Leticia Reyes, Andalusia, IL; sons: Sergio Reyes, Jr., Rock Island and Agustin (Holly) Reyes, Davenport; grandchildren: Jacklyn, Ray, Mitchell, Diana, DJ, Dawn, Kolby, Tatum, Tristan, Jeremy, Andrew, Christopher, Chelsey, Kelyn, Kelee, Lucas, Christopher and Emily and five great grandchildren. Her parents and a daughter, Dawn Marie preceded her in death.
