Robert “Bob” Owen Miller, 75, of Davenport, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, March 29, 2014. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Davenport. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Bob was born May 4, 1938 in Bloomington, IL, the son of Owen R. and Henrietta L. (Evans) Miller. He served in the US Army.
He was united in marriage with Sharon McKinzie on August 6, 1966 in Davenport.
Bob retired in 1997 after thirty-three years from teaching history primarily at Walcott Junior High with the Davenport School system. He was a model train/ railroad enthusiast and had a life-long passion for history. He also loved boating at the Lake of the Ozarks with his family, the Iowa Hawkeyes and was a life-long Packers fan. His greatest joy though was spending time with his grandchildren and his dogs.
Those honoring his life include his loving wife of 47 years, Sharon; children: Michael (Lisa), Bettendorf; Robert (Emily), Davenport and Kristin (Jack) Wilkinson, Sun Prairie, WI and his grandchildren: Jordan, Alyssa, Jenna and Ella as well as his extended family from Washington, Iowa. His parents preceded him in death.
