Rebecca “Becky” Lyn Cady, 76, of Coal Valley, adoring wife to husband, Roger Cady and loving mother of three, Derek, Michael and Samantha, passed away peacefully in the late afternoon, Sunday, August 7, 2022, surrounded by those who loved her dearly.
Visitation will be held from 10-12 p.m Tuesday, August 16, at the Runge Mortuary & Crematory, immediately followed by a graveside service at Davenport Memorial Park. Rebecca was born January 18, 1946 to Robert D. and Shirley (Kile) Beeks, Sr. in Bettendorf, IA. She attended Bettendorf High School, graduating in 1964. She wed Roger Cady on August 11, 1979 at St. James Lutheran Church in Bettendorf, IA. Becky was extremely dedicated to her career, putting in 28 years of service to John Deere before retiring in 2006. She is remembered as being loving, creative, and “the best sister you could have”. Becky enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren of whom she adored. In her free time Becky dabbled in the arts, sewing Halloween costumes for her grandchildren, scrapbooking, crafting, cooking, baking, and creating jewelry.
Rebecca is survived by her loving husband, Roger Cady; sons, Derek Woodhouse (Stephanie Clark) and Michael (Jennifer) Cady; daughter, Samantha (Josh) Wiley; grandchildren: Sydney Woodhouse (Melissa Morris), Lauren Woodhouse, Maegan Cady, Michael Cady, Johnathan Cady, Emily (Devin) Bertrand, Madelyn Deyoung, Adam Deyoung, and Lily Wiley; great grandchildren, Rylee and Mackenzie Bertrand; younger brother, Charles (Mary-Anne) Beeks; and sister-in-law, Barbara Beeks; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Bob, Jr.; and grandsons, Alec Cady and Ryan Deyoung.
