Raymond Ugene Sumpter

Raymond Ugene Sumpter died at home peacefully on November 4, 2010, following a courageous battle with diabetes and other health issues. His wish was fulfilled with cremation. Memorial services will be held at 11:30 AM Saturday, January 1, 2011 at the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be from 10:30 to 11:30 AM at the mortuary. Raymond was born January 1, 1960 in Davenport, the son of Freddie and Beverly Jean (Hahn) Sumpter.

During his life he was employed and retired at UPS.

Raymond enjoyed stock car racing, fishing, playing baseball, spending time with his grandchildren, father, family and friends.

He will be missed by his wife, Jill; children, Jessie, Jamie, Ray J.; his three grandchildren, Cayson, Scottlynn, and Josslynn; father, Freddie and Judy Sumpter; sisters, Lisa and Al McWilliams, Sheila Sumpter, Christine Behne, Rhonda Schnoor; and many nieces and nephews. We all love you and will miss you, Raymond.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Beverly, and his sister, Dana Sumpter.
