Ralph H. Nagel, 89, of Davenport, passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at Davenport Good Samaritan Center. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 am, Saturday, June 4, 2011 in the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be from 9:30-11:30 am Saturday at the mortuary. Mr. Nagel was born March 7, 1922 in Davenport, Iowa, the son of Henry and Clara (Ast) Nagel. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as an Aviation Machinist for six years. On June 25, 1949 he married Virjean Stubbs in Davenport. She preceded him in death on January 10, 2000.
He was employed by the Sieg Co. for 41 years, retiring as president in 1989. His memberships included St. Mark Lutheran Church and the Davenport Elks Lodge, where he was a lifetime member. He was also a longtime donor at the Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center.
Survivors include son and daughter-in-law Rick and Candy Nagel, daughter Deborah Robertson; granddaughters Amy Kuhlman and Leslie Nagel; two great granddaughters Reese and Kendall; and a sister, Ruth Roman.
