Phyllis "Jonesy" Jones

Phyllis “Jonesy” Jones, 97, formerly of Bettendorf, passed away Sunday, March 24, 2013 at Manor Care on Utica Ridge in Davenport surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at Zion Lutheran Church in Davenport. Visitation will be from 10:00 – 11:00 am Wednesday at the church. She was born prematurely on July 2, 1915 at home in Davenport, weighing two pounds, a daughter of Claud and Louise (Schulz) Hinton. On June 26, 1937, she married Harold Wayne Jones at Zion Lutheran Church in Davenport. He passed away May 8, 2007.

Her life was dedicated to the community, her family and church, having served numerous organizations over the years. Her hobbies included bowling, collecting, sewing and crafts.

Survivors include: son, Ronald (Diann) Jones, Rio Vista, CA; daughter, Karen Kerr, Bettendorf; grandchildren, Rhonda (Larry), Westminster, CO, Robin (Brian), Austin, TX, David, Folsom, CA, Jason (Jenny), DeWitt, IA and Josh (Shawna), Bettendorf; eleven great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, two sisters, a son-in-law, Steve Kerr, and a grandson, Christopher Jones.
