Visitation will be held from 4:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 3rd, at the Runge Mortuary. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 4th, in the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Paul was born June 14, 1944, the son of Everett Sr. and Theola (Brown) Bonney, in Davenport IA. He proudly served in the U.S. Army’s 1st Calvary during Vietnam where he received two Purple Hearts. On May 15, 1982, he was united in marriage to Colleen M. Ihrig in Davenport, IA. He retired from Alter Company after 40+ years of service.
Paul enjoyed family gatherings, working on various projects at his home, playing cards, watching sports, and was an avid fan of Westerns. He looked forward to his annual hunting trips ‘up north’ and fishing trips to Canada with his buddies.
Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Melissa (Chuck) Appleby of Davenport, IA; grandchildren, Breann Appleby and Bailey Appleby; great-grandchildren, Addi and Sekani; siblings, Edwina Stout, Elmer (Nancy) Justus, Mary McConnell, Donna Bonney, and Everett (Julie) Bonney, Jr.; numerous nieces and nephews; and best friend and ‘brother’, Larry Fenner.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Colleen Bonney; sons, Paul W. Bonney and Ricky Bonney; his parents; siblings, Lauretta Brooks, Methel (Bob) Neff, Dorthea Misner, Barbara Hoffman, and Kenny Bonney; and nephew, Jimmy (Sue) Brooks.
