Norman H. Olsen, 89, of Davenport, IA passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at Ridgecrest Village. A private family service will be held. Norman was born May 3, 1928 in Dixon, IA, son of Ephraim and Ella (Steinbeck) Olsen. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was united in marriage to Janice Werthmann on September 8, 1951 at Holy Family Church in Davenport, IA. Norman was employed at the former J.I. Case Company for 35 years, retiring in 1984. He was an avid bowler with the J.I. Case team. He also enjoyed golfing with his close friends. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Janice Olsen, Davenport; son, Brian (Shawn) Olsen, Iowa City, IA; daughters: Brenda (Joe) Beckman, Glendale, AZ; Becky (Dean) Strobbe, Dixon, IA; eight grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and a sister, Mary (Larry) Ragan, Sherman, TX. He was preceded in death by a brother, four sisters’, and one great grandchild. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
