Visitation will be at 12 pm until service time on Wednesday at the mortuary. Her funeral service will be at 2 pm Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at Runge Mortuary in Davenport. Burial will be in Parr Cemetery, Pleasant Prairie, IA. Memorials may be made in her name to the Alzheimer’s Association. Please share condolences at www.rungemortuary.com.
Marilyn was born July 16, 1934 in rural Wilton, IA to Ernest & Bertha (Meyer) Regennitter. She was united in marriage to Kenneth E. Fowler on October 9, 1954 in Davenport, IA. He preceded her in death on November 4, 2004.
Marilyn volunteered for over 30 years with Genesis Auxiliary Sewing Dept.; serving as Chairman for several years. She loved to sew, making baby quilts and blankets which were sold in the Genesis gift shop. She served as 4H leader for numerous years as her daughters participated. Marilyn was a perfectionist, often reworking her projects or asking the girls to rework their projects making certain it was to her standards. Marilyn enjoyed being outside and working in her vegetable and flower gardens. Family was very important to her and she was extremely proud of her Grand, Great-Grand, & Great-Great-Grandchildren. To some of her great-grandchildren she was known as “Grandma Great”.
The family would like to thank Hospice and her nurse, Elise, for their amazing care.
Survivors include children Joe (Laura) Fowler, Robin (Bob) Hillery, Mike (Carol) Fowler, Gary (Angie) Fowler, Mary (Shawn) Shubat, Cindy (Aaron) Dibbern, and Linda (John) Kleffmann; 15 Grandchildren; 16 Great-Grandchildren; 1 Great-Great-Grandchild; sister Florence Dallege; and her companion-Max the Cat.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, parents, & great-granddaughter, Alyssa Hillery.
