Marie M. Timm

Marie M. Timm, 103, of Walcott, died Saturday, September 6, 2014 at Good Samaritan in Davenport. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, September 12, 2014 in the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the mortuary. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Davenport Good Samaritan or the Walcott Firemens Association.

Marie was born August 10, 1911 in Davenport, a daughter of Thomas and Meta (Struck) Martzahn. She was united in marriage to Hans K. Timm in 1937 in Davenport. He died December 17, 1975.

Marie taught school for eight years at Belmont School on Middle Road in Davenport. She belonged to a Night Owl Club for over fifty years and a Telephone Card Club. She loved to make pies for the Walcott Day Pie Contest and also entered at the Scott County Port Producers Cooking Contest. She also enjoyed baking, gardening and her flowers.

Survivors include her daughter Betty Ann (Melvin) Brus and son Karl H. Timm, all of Walcott; daughter-in-law Deanna Timm of Muscatine; grandchildren Sheri (Brent) Bolte, Karen (Barry) Nolen, Nancy (Mick) Plymale, Keith (Christy) Brus, Jodi (David) Bailey, Julie (Tom) Plunkett and Jeff (Karla) Timm; eleven great grandchildren and a sister-in-law Eloise Martzahn.

In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Dorothy Parmely, Olivia Wiese, brothers Lester, Thomas and Henry Martzahn and a son, Edward T. Timm in 2005.
