Janice “Lynn” Chapman, 81, of Davenport Iowa passed away Sunday, May 7, 2023 at Trinity Hospital. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, May 11, 2023 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Davenport, IA. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. and conclude at the time of service. Following the service, Lynn will be laid to rest at Davenport Memorial Park. In honor of Lynn, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice. Lynn was born on July 14, 1941 in Keithsburg, IL, the daughter of Keith and Wilma Hall. She attended Keithsburg High school. Lynn was united in marriage to Neal Chapman on August 17th, 1957 in Keithsburg IL. Together, they raised two boys and had 65 unforgettable years. Lynn served as the school secretary at Roosevelt Elementary School for 35 years where she enjoyed nurturing the school children and their families as well staff members at Roosevelt. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, getting her ‘boys’ ready to go pheasant hunting as well as celebrating Holidays and cherishing life with her family.
Lynn is survived by her husband of 65+ years, Neal Chapman; one son, David (Carrie); two grandsons, Matthew (Alicia), Ryan (Brittany); and three great grandchildren William, Theodore and Madelyn.
Lynn was preceded in death by her son Carey, her sister Alene Greene, and her parents, Keith and Wilma Hall.
