Luella J. (Serk) Buri

Memorial services will be Tuesday, November 22 at 12 pm at The Runge Mortuary. Visitation will be Tuesday from 10:30 until the service at noon. Her final resting place will be in the Rock Island National Cemetery.

She was born in Davenport on September 24, 1933. She was the daughter of Walter and Elenora “Nora” Serk. She married Dwight Buri on July 22, 1961 in Davenport. He passed away on September 30, 1989.

Luella worked over twenty years and retired from the Osteopathic Hospital. She was a member of North Side Baptist Church. She also had many friends at CASI Retirement Center where she met her special friend, Harold. They were friends till the end. She was a wonderful mother who went through a lot in her lifetime and will be deeply missed.

Those left to honor her memory include her children: Sharon Hutcheson Stewart, DeWitt, IA, Nancy (JD) Miles, Springfield, MO, Debbie Wendt, Wisconsin Dells, WI, Dwight Buri, Jr. Dumont, IA and Tom Buri, Davenport; 13 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 12 great-great grandchildren, nephew, Rick, niece, Linda and other great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, daughters Sue and Carol, grandsons, Kenny and Ben, granddaughter, Jenny and brother, Leo (Ruth) Harkert.
