Lois Jean Cartwright, 82, of Davenport IA. Passed away on September 24th, 2022 in Iowa City, IA. A visitation will be held at Weerts Funeral Home on Friday October, 14th 2022 from 5-7pm. Lois was born on October 3rd, 1939 in Davenport IA., to Theodore and Helen Gruenhagen. Lois spent her early life on a farm in rural Scott County and attended the historical Forest Grove School Number 5. She later met the love of her life Donald Cartwright. The two later wed on September 16th 1962 in Davenport IA. They went on to have two beautiful children.
Lois enjoyed spending her time travelling with her husband in their RV, loved all kinds of crafts and enjoyed feeding and watching her hummingbirds every morning. Lois was a loving house wife who took care of her family. When she was not taking care of her family she could be found managing the Mississippi Valley Fair craft department, she worked for a short time at Davenport Bank & Trust, and she was an administrative assistant at Charles Richardson and Company. A member of the Lincoln Go-Getters 4-H club in childhood, she carried on her love for 4-H by helping her children through their own personal 4-H journey as well. Lois was a dedicated member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church for many years.
Lois is survived by her loving son; Steve (Louise) Cartwright of Colorado, her sister Vera Conner, Grandchild, Rikkey Rumler and a variety of cousins.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents; Theodore and Helen Gruenhagen, the love of her life Don Cartwright and her daughter Kimberly Cartwright.
