Funeral Service will be held at 12:00pm on Saturday, December 14, 2024 at the Runge Mortuary. Visitation will be held two hours prior, starting at 10:00am. A private burial will take place at the Rock Island National Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be made in his name to the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Heart Association. John was born on July 6, 1947 in Stuttgart, Germany to Julius and Hilda (Schatz) Kraehling. He was united in marriage to Margaret “Maggie” Shultz on December 12, 1970 in Hawley, Pennsylvania. He proudly served in the U.S. Army between 1969-1971.
He enjoyed camping, waterskiing, and riding motorcycles. He loved vacationing with his family most of all.
Celebrating his life include his wife of 54 years, Maggie; children, Joyce (Jason) Werning and Jake (Danielle) Kraehling; and grandchildren, Julia Werning, Harrison Kraehling, Jordan Werning, and Lucy Kraehling.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Eugene Kraehling.
