With heavy hearts, we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, Jeffrey “Jeff” McWilliams on December 19, 2024. A funeral service to honor his memory will be held on Monday, December 30, 2024 at 4pm at Weerts Funeral Home; visitation will be before the service starting at 2pm. Memorials in Jeff’s name may be made to King’s Harvest Pet Rescue.
Born on August 19, 1966, to Robert “Lain” and Sharon “Joan” McWilliams; Jeff had a heart of compassion for everyone he encountered. Through his years of service within the Davenport Community School District and in the corporate office of Von Maur, he had a smile for all he met, and a laugh that could turn even the biggest frown upside down.
Jeff gave love freely and joyfully, especially when it came to his family. His nieces and nephews adored their Uncle Jeff and relished every moment they shared; whether making snow ice cream, going to visit Thomas the Train, or feeding the ducks at Vander Veer Park, time with Uncle Jeff always meant “fun”.
Jeff was a faithful and active member of Faith First Community Church of Davenport. He served Jesus with proud dedication, and undoubtedly led others to Christ with the light he shone. Jeff loved to explore the world around him. Even though he wasn’t a big fan of airplanes, he traveled as often as he could. He enjoyed countless travel adventures with his family and friends, and we will carry these memories with us to honor his life and the impact he made on ours.
Jeff is survived by his parents, Robert “Lain” and Sharon “Joan” McWilliams; his siblings Jerry (Keri) McWilliams, Terri Ranes, Michelle (Randy) Garretson, and Rob (Nicole) McWilliams; his dear friend, Cathy Koehler-Wright; and of course his dog, Dolly, named after the one and only Dolly Parton.
Jeff, we will always love you.
