Emma VerHeecke was born May 9, 1944, a daughter to Charles and Marie VerHeecke. She married the love of her life, Mike, on June 12, 1965 in Davenport. To this union their only daughter, Kimberly, was born.
Together they shared 54 years of love and happiness until his passing on February 28, 2020. Emma was a homemaker after their daughter was born. She later worked as Head Cashier and Employee Trainer at Hy-Vee in Bettendorf until her health forced her to retire in 2010.
Emma’s number one priority was family. She cherished every moment spent with them and loved creating new memories. She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, and took extra pride in keeping an immaculate home and yard. She was an avid collector of Isabel Bloom statues, mostly angels.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Kimberly Haddix-Schauf; granddaughter, Ashley (Pete) Hoelscher; grandson, Brandon (Jackie) Hubbard; great grandchildren, Heaven, Nova, Vince, and Nora; brother, Richard VerHeecke; sister, Ilene Hamer; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and her beloved cat, Buddy.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Mike; sister, Janet Marie Loveall; parents, Charles and Marie VerHeecke; and her son-in-law, Lee Schauf.
