Rick Carson, 70, of Davenport passed away Friday, January 24, 2014 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf, following a brave battle with ill health. Following cremation, a memorial service will be planned at a future date. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rungemortuary.com.
Mr. Carson was born July 31, 1943 in Chicago, Illinois, a son of Adel and Mary Jane (Deschane) Carson. He graduated from Warren High School in Monmouth, Illinois. After owning his own business for a number of years, he was employed by Advanced Homes in Davenport until his retirement.
He was known as “Mr. Fix-It” who could fix anything that needed to be fixed. His hobbies included classic cars, attending cars shows and being an avid fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes. He loved all pets, especially his dogs Gidget and Scarlet.
Survivors include his longtime dear friend, Penny Sweatt, brother, Craig Carson and sisters Phyllis and Tennie Carson. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Neil and John Carson.
