A masonic service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, followed by the funeral service. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. until the time of services. He will be laid to rest in Pine Hill Cemetery. David was born December 9, 1941 to William and Margaret (Wheeler) Goodwin in Muscatine, IA. On July 22, 1967 he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Ouderkirk in Davenport, IA. He retired from Navistar after 25 years of service.
David was a member of the Trinity Lodge 208 for 48 years and was a 32nd degree mason, Greater Davenport Metro Bowling Association in Iowa, and an avid member at Faith Lutheran Church in Moline, IL, where he participated in men’s bible study and was a communion assistant. David dabbled in engraving trophies and name tags. He enjoyed going fishing and family vacations to Kentucky and Nebraska. More than anything, he loved being a grandpa.

Goodwin of Morse, IA, Laura (James) VanPatten of Cedar Falls, IA, and Rachel (Lloyd) Tenney of Davenport, IA; grandchildren: Justa Goodwin of Belle Plain, IA, Abigail (Garrett) Freeman of Tipton, IA, Grace VanPatten, Andrew Van Patten and Emma Van Patten all of Cedar Falls, IA, Joshua Tenney of Davenport, IA, Ashley (Quinn) Schroeder of Elkhorn, NE, and Nickolas Tenney of Davenport, IA; great-grandchild, Acen Goodwin-Marble of Belle Plain, IA; special niece, Dawn Weedon of Blue Grass, IA; several nephews; and special family, Shari Teneyck of Belle Plain, IA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, beloved wife, Elizabeth Goodwin and his sister, Gertie Nickols.
