Charles Frederick Griffith Sr.

Charles Frederick Griffith, Sr., 84, of Davenport passed away Sunday, October 30, 2016 at Genesis Medical Center – East Campus. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 2, 2016 in the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. Wednesday in the mortuary. Charles was born in Creston Iowa and raised in Davenport. He served in the United States Army from 1952-1958. After his service he met and was soon married to his wife Beverly. They were married for 48 years and raised four sons.

He worked at John Deere Harvester in East Moline and retired after 30 years.

During his retirement he enjoyed taking trips across the country, and spending time with Beverly.

After Beverly passed away, he got to travel in a semi truck 700,000 miles across the country with his son Joseph. He also spent a week in Alaska with his son Scott where he got to see a lot of animals and the northern lights. He will be greatly missed by all.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly and his brother, George. He is survived by his sons Charles Jr., Michael (Nancy), Scott (Nancy), and Joseph, along with 9 grandchildren.
