Cathy Ann Johnstone

Cathy Ann Johnstone, 61, of Davenport, passed away Sunday, October 22, 2023 in Davenport. A celebration of her life will be held at the Davenport VFW on Saturday, November 4, 2023 starting at 4 pm.

She was born July 12, 1962 in Davenport, the daughter of John and Sandra (Wendland) Spears. She graduated from Davenport West High School. Cathy started working for the Davenport school system while still in high school and continued to work there as a secretary for forty years in the Special Education Department. She retired in June 2020.

She served as a volunteer many years for the Special Olympics and her memberships included the VFW Post 828 Auxiliary and the Eagles Lodge until its closure. She loved to watch movies as well.

Those left to honor her memory include her sons: Eric (Alina) Johnstone, Davenport and Jason (Alicia) Johnstone, Blue Grass; grandchildren: Lancer, Braden, Layton, Winter, Willow and Zeighler Johnstone; sister, Paula (Robert) Flores, KS, niece, Angela Erickson, Davenport and nephews, Danny Jasper, FL and Robert and Tyler Flores of KS.

In addition to her parents, John Spears and Sandra Gardner, Cathy was preceded in death by a sister, Julie Carlson and a nephew, Jamie Erickson.
