Brian David Walters, Sr., 86, of Davenport, passed Wednesday August 17, 2016 at Unity Point Trinity, Bettendorf. Memorial service will be held Monday August 22, 2016 at Christ United Methodist Church, Davenport at 1:00 pm. Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the church. Burial will be at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Kaaba Shrine Transportation Fund. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rungmortuary.com.
He was born April 6, 1930 in Franklin, New Jersey. He was a Korean War era veteran. Brian was united in marriage to Dolores Norman on September 12, 1953 in Stockholm, New Jersey. He worked many years at Picatinny Arsenal and retired from the Rock Island Arsenal as a mechanical engineer after 34 years in 1985.
Brian enjoyed building model cars, trains and wood working. His memberships included: Brubaker masonic Lodge #675, Scottish Rite, Egypt Shriners Ambassador, Kaaba Shriners Director’s Staff, Order of Eastern Star, Royal Order of Scotland, Order of Quetzalcoatal, TAU BETA PI, PI TAU SIGMA, Iowa State Sheriffs and Deputies Institute, Florida Sheriffs Association, High Twelve Club, Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels, National Association of Active and Retired Federal Employees.
Those left to honor his memory include: his loving wife of 63 years, Dolores A. Walters, Davenport; son, Edward Walters, Davenport; and daughter, Phyllis Walters, Davenport.
Brian was preceded in death by his son, Brian D. Walters, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Susan Walters; parents and two brothers.
