Theresa Alice Atkinson

Age 100. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late William E. MacRoberts and Emily M. (Bonang). Theresa was a member of St. Peters Church and ladies auxiliary of E.P.C.B, Fire Department, also of C.B.W. Tops and an active member of Tallahassee Seniors Club. She enjoyed her family, knitting, sewing, cooking, music and dancing. Survived by daughters, Evonne Young (the late Richard) of Cumberland Co., Linda Hartson (the late Basil) of Dartmouth, Cynthia Hillier of Dartmouth, and Annie Clark (the late Douglas) of Cumberland Co.; sons, William Brophy of Vancouver and Vincent Atkinson (Anne) of Dartmouth; sister, Louella Hart of Dartmouth; brother, Freddie of Lawrencetown; 15 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by husband, Cyril St. Clair Brophy; second husband, Douglas Atkinson; companion, John Hart; sons, George Brophy, Cyril Brophy and John Brophy; sisters, Mary Hanaman, Olive Hill, Geraldine Kirsk, Eva Galley, Virginia Lawther; brothers, Bernard, Charlie, Donald, and Thomas. Memorial Service will be held in A. L. Mattatall Funeral Home on Friday, September 18, 2020 at 1pm. Donations may be made to the Palliative Care Cumberland County.
