With sadness the family of Eileen Myers (nee Lewis), 94, announce her peaceful passing on May 3rd, 2022, at the Dartmouth General Hospital. Born in Woodside, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Mary Lewis.
Eileen was predeceased by her husband Maynard Myers. She is lovingly remembered by her children David (Christine) Myers, Donald Myers, Sandy (Terri) Myers, Wayne (Angela) Myers, Catherine (Tim) Gabriel and Suzanne (Mary) Switzer. Siblings Allan (Norma) Lewis, Marilyn Saldon, Gary (Darcel) Lewis and Diane (Bob) Shufelt. She is survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was predeceased by brother Frank (Peggy) Lewis, sister Doris (Rusty) Bedell, brother-in-law Herb Saldon, daughter-in-law Betty Myers and granddaughter Jennifer Myers.
Eileen worked for many years as a personal care worker at the Halifax County Hospital. She was a woman of faith, having been a devout member of St. Thomas More Parish and the Catholic Woman's League, as well as a eucharist minister. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Arrangements are under the care of Mattatall Funeral Home. Visitation will take place from 10 – 11am on Saturday, May 7th at St. Thomas More Roman Catholic Church, 15 Caledonia Road, Dartmouth, NS. Funeral mass will follow at St. Thomas More at 11am with Fr. Toochukwu Okafor officiating. Interment to take place at 1:30 pm at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 33 Old Sackville Dr., Lower Sackville.
