Laurence Harold Phillips, 84, of Dartmouth, NS, passed away peacefully, October 19, 2020, in the Dartmouth General Hospital with family at his side. He was predeceased by parents, Ronald and Hazel (Leslie) Phillips, brother Charles Phillips and wife of 29 years Pearl (Conrod) Phillips. He is survived by daughters, Cathy (Randy) Carey, Cheryl (Chris) Howells, Janice Phillips, brother Ron (Dora) Phillips and sister-in-law Carrie (Charles) Phillips, grandchildren, Christina, Victoria and Patricia Howells and Kelsey, Dylan and Christian Carey, and 6 great-grandchildren, all whom he loved dearly. Laurie had a long career at the Halifax Dockyard as a Naval Draftsman. He enjoyed annual hunting and fishing trips with good friends, wood-working and motorcycles. He was a former president of the Atlantic Vintage Motorcycle Society in the 70’s and early 80’s. He loved spending time at the cottage with family and fishing on the lake. A private celebration of life has been held followed by burial. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Laurence’s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society, Parkinson Society of NS or charity of choice.
