Sturdy, John Glen, 48 of Halifax, our wonderful son passed away Feb. 8, 2012 in Colchester Co. Hospital, born in Halifax Aug. 20, 1963. He was the son of Barbara (Munro) and Gerald Sturdy of Enfield, N.S. Glen worked different places over the years including Holiday Inn (Chef) and Sagittarius Security. He was a member of the PLF and served in Germany for three tours. He volunteered at the Children’s Hospital, Seniors Homes and played “Old Saint Nick” for the Children’s Hospital plus many others. He had a keen interest in old cars and was an animal lover. He cherished every moment he got to spend with his son Michael, whom he loved dearly. Glen enjoyed putting a smile on the faces of many seniors and children. He had a great sense of humour, full of love and happiness and enjoyed life to the fullest and when he laughed, he laughed straight from his toes. Glen is survived by his precious son, Michael and girlfriend Alice Dickson; his long time companion , Shree Peters, sisters, Cheryl Eldridge (David ), Kelly Birchell (Pat) nieces and nephews, Chris, Meaghan, Mariah and Kevin(Mini Me), many Cherished Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins. Glen touched many hearts with his kind caring way. Many thanks to the Dr.'s Moryzcki, and Ago, Palliative Care Dr. Courtney Smith and Palliative Nurse Dawn Martell, All the staff on 6th North of the VG Cancer Ctr. and all the amazing care given by the nurses at 3 North Colchester Co., Hospital, Truro. And the entire VON who cared for Glen so well and many thanks to the Red Cross. Thanks to all our great neighbours and great friends who have been with us through Glen’s illness. They are the best. To all his buddies especially Roland and Jonathon for opening up his home to make some of Glen's last days very memorable and all of his co-workers at Sagittarius Security.
