Dorothy Boudreau

Boudreau, Dorothy Frances-90, of Lower East Chezzetcook passed away December 10, 2012 at the Birches Nursing Home, Musquodoboit Harbour. Born in Upper Dyke Village, NS she was a daughter of the late Lorenzo and Suze Barnaby.

Dorothy was a long time employee of Simpson’s retiring in 1982, she was also a member of the UCW in Musquodoboit Harbour. She volunteered at the Birches and Twin Oaks Hospital. Dorothy enjoyed knitting and crocheting. Family and friends looked forward to her homemade donuts and fruit cakes.

Surviving are her children, John Hawkins (Mary), Arlene (Pat) Laframboise, Doug Hawkins (Christine), Donald Hawkins (Linda), David Hawkins (Fran); several grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews; as well as her long time friend, Grace Bereton, Victoria, BC. She was predeceased by her first husband, Gordon Hawkins, second husband, Albert Boudreau; sister, Helen Roberts and daughter Allison Proctor.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of A.L. Mattatall Funeral Home, 217 Portland Street, Dartmouth, NS. A graveside service will be held at a later date in Camphill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Birches Nursing Home. The family would like to thank the staff at the Birches for their care and compassion.
