Findlay, Cyril Joseph- it is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Cyril age 92 years at the QE II Victoria General on October 27, 2014. Cyril was predeceased by his wife Marjorie (Collings) Findlay; brothers, Ronald, Herbert and Roland in infancy; and his sister Marion in infancy; his parents Albert and Winnifred. He is survived by his loving sister, Viola Atkinson; nieces B.J. Atkinson (Faye); Cathy MacKenzie (Ian); Sharon MacPhee (Leonard); nephews, Michael Atkinson (Lesley),Paul Findley and James Nieforth; sister- in- law, Marie Findley.
Cyril was a kind and gentle soul who loved to work with his hands in his younger day. He had a natural talent of turning a simple piece of wood into beautiful works of art. During WWII, he contributed to the war effort by working as a machinist in Halifax. He was a painter by trade and took his work very seriously. Cyril loved and cherished his sister, Viola and they enjoyed their bingo nights together. They were truly best friends as well as siblings. We would like to extend much gratitude to the staff and nurses at the Victoria General Unit 6A, you helped make Cyril as comfortable as possible and for that we are eternally grateful. Cyril was a man of faith. It is comforting to know he is now free from pain and again with his loved ones who passed before him.
