Born in North Sydney, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2017 in Maplestone Enhanced Care. Survived by children, Bonnie LeBlanc (Bill), Marilyn Chaisson (James), Shirley Russell, Lawrence Doucette (Gail), and her brother Emmanuel (Rosella); eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. She was the daughter of the late Elizabeth Parks and Abbott Keigan. She is predeceased by her husband Lawrence; sisters, Anna May (Nan), Abbie, Jean, and Elsie; brothers, Reginald, Gordon, William, Earl, Lloyd, Kenny, Michael Lawrence, and Abbott in infancy, and her infant granddaughter Nadine.
Kitten worked in food services for over 40 years and received a long service award from the Nova Scotia Government.
She was very active, loved to shop, bake and play bingo. She was very shy and generous and would help anyone she could. Kitten had many friends at Eastwood Manor that will miss her greatly; she was a long time member of St Peter's Parish.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 27 from 2-4pm & 7-9pm in A. L. Mattatall Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday at 10am in St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, 10 Maple St. followed by a luncheon. Burial will take place at Mount Hermon Cemetery. Special thank you to the staff of the QEII, VG Site 9A nursing station and staff of Ringdale nursing station in Mapleston Enhanced Care for their care and compassion.
