It is with deep sadness, we announce the passing of our mother, Beverley-Anne Gooding (Jay) of Dartmouth, NS on July 12th at Northwood Nursing Home. Born in Montreal, QC she was the daughter of the late George and Olive Jay (McFetrick). Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her beloved husband, John (Jock) Gooding. Lovingly remembered by her son, Bruce (Wade Smith) Lantz, NS; son, Richard (Sharon) Enfield, NS and his family; granddaughter, Pamela Foley (Colin); great-granddaughters, Sienna and Parker; grandson, Travis (Kelcy Boutilier); great-granddaughter, Quinn; and son, Robert, Halifax, NS and his family; granddaughter, Rachel and grandson, Drew, and their mother Tracey Jordan. She is also survived by her dear sister, Audrey Shepherd (Rev. Roy) Toronto, ON and their family; nephews, Jay and John and niece, Janet, whom she shared a special bond. Bev was a long-time member of St. Andrew Anglican Church, Cole Harbour where she was involved with the ACW. She was also a member of the St. Andrew Belles performing at nursing homes and church events. In her younger years, she worked in accounting at several importing firms in Montreal and Toronto. Bev and Jock and their three sons moved to Nova Scotia after he took a position with Imperial Oil. Bev took time to raise her three sons but went back to work for several tax firms when they became teenagers. In retirement, Bev enjoyed baking, sewing, and crafting. She was also the President and Treasurer of the Rainbow Seniors Club. Bev had many friends but was particularly close with Sheila and Phil Klassen, Sharon (Cookie) Neveu, Peggy Jensen, and the late Phyllis Hill. Cremation has taken place and per her wishes there will be no service. A private family gathering will take place in Ontario in September. Memorial donations may be made to the Children’s Wish Foundation or a charity of your choice. Special thanks to the staff at Northwood Home Care, Dartmouth General, and Northwood 3c for their loving care of our mother.
