Donna Marie (Daniels) Avila, 57, of Dartmouth, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 17, 2019 at home surrounded by her family following a courageous battle with cancer. She was the loving wife of James W. Avila with whom she shared 35 years of marriage.
Born in New Bedford, daughter of Horace and Doris (Frates) Daniels of Dartmouth, she was a lifelong resident of Dartmouth. She was a graduate of Dartmouth High School.
Mrs. Avila was a program coordinator in the field of ABA Therapy working for Children Making Strides, as well as a special education paraprofessional and nanny.
Donna was a talented craft maker, enjoyed bargain shopping and traveling. In earlier years, she worked as a florist. Most of all, Donna loved being with her loving family.
Surviving in addition to her husband and parents are her children, Ashley Milardo and her husband Brent of Brooklyn, CT and Joshua Avila of Dartmouth; her brother, Brian Daniels of Dartmouth; and her grandchildren, Giana Milardo and Analiese Avila, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Her Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, June 24, 2019 at 10am in St. Mary’s Church, 783 Dartmouth St., Dartmouth followed by burial in South Dartmouth Cemetery. Visiting hours Sunday 4-8pm in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Dartmouth, 230 Russells Mills Rd., Dartmouth.
