   How do I find the words to express how we shared our lives together and compress it into a few words? 

   Our falling in love days were magical! We achieved everything we wanted. All throughout the years your anniversary cards almost always read, "Don't worry Babe, we will do it all!". 
 
   And he was right until that curve ball hit us hard. I cannot express how strong my husband was during his battle with the most devastating disease that exists. We had a good five years while Billy was being unbelievably optimistic and accepting. He never complained, lost his temper or showed defeat. He still thought he could out run us and he did. He was the true definition of a warrior.

   Through our married years Bill and I remained in love through the thick and thin. We felt so fortunate to always have that. There was nothing better than our Sundays all together. Started with Dad going to early mass, me cooking our traditional and favorite meal, macaroni with gravy, while Bill would be doing lawn work and coming in for a football game and 2-3 meatballs and a beer. Finishing the day eating together and listening to Dean Martin and Mob Hits.  

   Our weeks were spent going to practices for the kids, weekends filled with the best entertainment of our lives while watching our kids out on the field, on stage or on the mats. Our precious children, Michaela and Billy were our shining stars through this 15 year span. The friends we met and shared so much with through sports and our community became priceless to us.

   All of our family holidays and gatherings were so full of love and joy. And our family vacations were by far the highlights of our lives!

   Working hard together to achieve all of this is our Love Story that ended way too quickly. But I am so thankful to have had this life with my husband. He will always be my King while we take him everywhere we go.

William Edward Magrino Jr. was a man who's name I will be and always have been proud to share. He was not only the most caring, loving and supporting father, but also my best friend. My father was the one person in the whole world I could ever go to with any problem, question, or just to sit down and talk with. I'm my eyes, there was nothing that he couldn't do or solve, even when his health started to diminish I still knew that I could go to him for anything.
 I remember one restless night of my senior year in high school where I had absolutely no luck at falling asleep and at around 3:00 in morning I went into his room to see that he was awake as well. I sat down next him in bed and we started a conversation about god knows what. We talked that night until the sun came up and didn't even realize how long we had been sitting there. That was the relationship my father and I had. There were no boundaries between us, and nothing we couldn't say to each other, and no matter the situation we were always able share a laugh together.
I remember when I was a child there was one night when I couldn't sleep because of a head ache. I went to my father and asked him what to do, and he laid in bed with me, holding my head, and waited for me to fall asleep. My father was caring not only to me and our family, but to everyone he knew. There was nothing he wouldn't do for the people he cared about, and especially after he got sick, he appreciated the well being of everyone around him. I always knew that if I was anywhere at any time and I ever needed anything he would be there as fast as could be. That was who he was, always and for anyone.
Not only was he always there for people, but he had an incredible work ethic. I always felt that whatever task I took on had to have been done perfectly, because thats the way dad would have done it. My father taught my sister and me almost everything we know and tried his best to teach us the ins and outs of the world. His wisdom had no lengths and sitting here now I wonder about the remaining wisdom he could have bestowed onto us still.
I remember the day my mother and father sat my sister and me down, and told us that our dad, our best friend, was diagnosed with ALS. We knew for awhile what ALS was, what it did, and that it was a possibility. I was only around 12 years old and  I never took it into account that my father, the strongest man alive could be ill with a diseas like that. Immediately after hearing this news I went to my room, closed the door and cried my eyes out. Over the years I watched my father grow even more sick, and still I could never fully grasp the idea that the man I always saw as bigger than life could be going through so much pain. But he persevered. I know for a fact that having ALS did not make my father weaker. It made him stronger. I thought seeing him lift weights, or fix things around the house made him look strong when I was young, but now I have seen the true strenghth my father possessed. He possessed strength in will. Strength in mind. And for that I will always respect him more than any man I will ever meet. 
I miss and think about him everyday, but that only reminds me how much of an impact he had on my life. It only reminds me of how much he loved and cared for myself and our whole family. Dad, you have no idea how deeply you will be missed by everyone who had the pleasure to know you. 

Rest easy brother, I love you.

I am very glad that I got the chance to meet and get to know Mr. Magrino. He was always welcoming and in high spirits when I saw him. In the time that I got to know him it was very evident that he cared immensely for his family and got such enjoyment having them around. He was a very proud man and commanded respect. Mr. Magrino was the epitome of what a man should be. Kind, loving and wise. He will be forever missed by all who knew him.

Cousins. Some people don't even keep in touch with their cousins.  Some people don't even know their cousins and some people don't even like their cousins.  My first cousins are like my sisters and brothers, maybe that's because our mothers were sisters and they were very close.  I don't really know.  But I like my cousins  I love my cousins.  We grew up right next door to each other.  There is that one cousin who was very special to me. The man we mourned and honored a few weeks ago.  Brave, courageous, determined.  Happy, funny, warm and kind.  Will was brave and courageous when he learned of his diagnosis and he accepted it.  He had a great deal of determination to continue to live a normal everyday life.  He was always happy when I saw him, always funny, laughing about something.  We really connected on so many levels.  

Will was also compassionate  when my Mom was getting weaker from the cancer, he picked her up from the sofa and brought her outside to my sister's deck where the rest of the family had gathered for a BBQ.  He would not have her sitting inside by herself.  Will had a heart of gold.

When my Uncle did not come to my sister's wedding as planned and was to walk my mother into the reception, Will volunteered to escort my mother and danced with her during the first dance.  Will was sentimental and family-oriented.

When someone close to you dies, it is natural to think that you should have said this or you should have said that.  I believe that I said all those things over the years.  Our talks and laughs over the years speaks volumes for the kind of relationship we had.  I will forever miss those talks and his laugh.   

Deep down inside, I know Will is in a safe and peaceful place, no longer in pain and in a place where so much love surrounds him.  He is with family, friends, others who have gone before him.  He is looking down on Liz, Michaela and Billy and he is beaming with pride.  He will watch over all of us.  God Bless the Magrino family.

Dearest Uncle Billy, it's so hard to believe you aren't with us anymore. But I know in my heart you will be there in spirit. Thank you for always being there for us. Whether it was to make us laugh, to celebrate, to cry with us or to give us advice. I'm so glad my children knew you and loved you! They will miss you terribly. I pray that Liz, Michaela and 'little Billy' find peace in knowing you aren't suffering anymore and always cherish their happiest memories. May you be our Angel now, always looking over us and telling us what to do. Miss you and love you always!

I dont remember exactly when William and I met . Yes thats right he was always William Not sure if that was his Mother Rose or thats the way it was . But he was always called William . Our yards met at the back fence he on the Woodland and me on Drake . My mother was a longtime friend of his mother , so when they were younger and Rose lived next door in the house with her parents my mother lived on Drake and yes they had the back fence too . The funny thing was back then we didnt have cell phones I say that for 2 reasons well maybe 3 , First when either of our mothers yelled our name it was like gym class and the whistle , Stop look and listen . Secondly and sadly sometimes you just lose touch with each other because as life happens you always dont know about it , and third I think I would have stayed closer to people especially this guy . He was the best friend anyone could ask for . You knew if you had a problem you could always turn to William . He was that kind of guy . So we lived in adjoining yards and there was this tremendous Locust tree leaning in the corner of the yard . I believe it  was being held up by a fence post in Mr. Tedone's yard . There was an opening and I guess we were 8,9 something like that and we went through the opening to each others yard. Instead of having to walk around on Main St .or go the long way around Elm .Later in life we were members of the same scout troop . Troop6 New Rochelle Sponsored by the Presbyterian church on Pintard Ave, We enjoyed many camping trips , learning to be good scouts and all that that entailed . There is so much more to this than you can put into words . When I found out Bill had ALS I thought I would die. I was in a total state of disbelief . I regarded his somewhat regular posts a good sign that this silent disease wasnt taking hold on him.I prayed for him constantly. Then I saw the pictures where he was sitting and I prayed harder . Then I saw the wheel chair and prayed even harder even getting angry sometimes while praying. Finally I hadnt seen anything in a while and I wrote a post on his wall something like this "hey Bill havent seen you on in a while hope all is well and love to hear from you" a day or 2 went by , nothing a few more , nothing a week , 2 weeks , then I saw his sister Mary's post you can see my reaction immortalized there . I cried for over an hour how could it be this man that was always so strong and vibrant how could this be? I am here for you all if you ever need anything like your son , husband , father brother was for all of you .

My condolences to you, and your family. I worked with Billy, since 2001, and he was so proud of all of you. It's not often that one comes across such a good person, and it was an honor to be Billy's friend. May you find peace through this difficult time.

Daddy I will love you and miss you forever. I know you are in my heart and such a strong part of who I am, but I will miss our special conversations, how you would unexpectedly do something to make everyone smile, and just how happy you were to be with family - holding each other whether it was around christmas time, on vacation, or just out to dinner. You were always feeling the love and radiating such happiness and pride that we could all feel. You used to love to be awake before everyone else. I remember getting up early with you on vacation, working out together, having our special breakfasts and admiring the beach and the ocean and how calm and peaceful it was before everyone woke up. As calming as it was it always gave us this feeling of so much power, something beyond just you and I. I will treasure these moments forever and I will always think of you when I'm on the edge of the water, or hiking, or gardening. I'm so sad you won't be here to give me your irreplaceable advice throughout life and to meet your grandchildren. But I will make you proud. XOXO

I hope you can find comfort in knowing that William is no longer bearing the burden of ALS and that he has been welcomed by the loving arms of Rose and all the wonderful Magrinos who passed before him. He always had a hearty greeting, cheerful smile and a positive disposition about him.  I always looked forward to family gatherings and spending time with him, especially the holidays and bbq's.  We had a lot of fun, some great talks and always shared a drink. I will miss him greatly.

It's still unbelievable we said goodbye. It will not sink in for a long while. 
I think you would have loved your luncheon that followed your beautiful Mass & prayers at the cemetery. I wanted to apologize that I didn't get up and share a memory or two. I think I was so focused enjoying everyone else's stories that I forgot to stand & speak myself. ( So not me! ) Each memory brought more tears to my eyes, but that's okay. They were good tears. I know you were aware that you were so much more than my 1st cousin. I always wanted an older brother to look after me & that's what you were to me growing up.  Besides being such a large part of my fun & awesome childhood, you taught me a lot & gave me great advice over the years. I remember when you set me up on a date once with a friend of yours. When I called you the next day & told you it didn't go very well, you were so upset and apologized. You blamed yourself that he wasn't good enough. You assured me that I would know when I met my soulmate and to never ever settle for anything less. You were so excited to meet Kev & were so happy at our wedding. I also remember the exact day when you called me at work to tell me the doctor confirmed your ALS diagnosis. We knew, but my heart still sunk. We both cried on the phone that morning, but then I couldn't think of what to say to you afterwards. You would have known what to say to someone after they shared that type of news. You always did. 
It was very evident that you made such a huge impact on so many people, but it was just wonderful and very comforting to hear over and over and over again, not only Friday afternoon, but also at your wake Thursday. It made Michaela & Billy beam with pride. People were on line for 45 minutes, wrapping around the funeral parlor just to pay their respects. You had a heart of gold Will. You were kind, funny, generous, strong, courageous & brutally honest (like me!) and everyone that knew you, was blessed. 
I hope you are laughing with your Mom and mine & Grandma and Grandpa, too. I hope Aunt Jo welcomed you with sausage, peppers, potatoes & onions! I know now you will no longer be suffering and that you are at peace. 
So eat well, drink, talk, smile & listen to good music...that's we did all day Friday in your honor!

My dear, strong, fun and kind Uncle Billy. I loved our walks and bike rides on the jersey shore boardwalk, and hanging on the beach in Rockaway, holidays full of laughter and lots of drinks (and shots) and talking about life with you. And most recently, seeing my children with you, how drawn they were to you, climbing right into your bed the last time you stayed with us. You made them giggle like no one else. I know that like everyone else, when with you they felt safe and loved. 

Thank you for the great times, the advice, the love. And thank you most of all for loving my Aunt Lizzy and raising two incredible children who are so proud of you and like you in so many ways. My promise to you is that we will always be here for them. I love you more than words and miss you already.

I knew "Billy" for many years a long time ago. We went to Jefferson, IEY, and NRHS together. Billy was such a fun loving guy, always quick with a smile and a good friend. I was glad to catch up with him on Facebook a few years ago. His family can try and take comfort knowing that Billy was liked by many and will be remembered fondly by everyone who grew up with him as well as those who came into contact with him throughout his life. He will be missed.

I had some great chats with Bill at the Dog Park over the past few years.  He had an amazing spirit and attitude despite what he faced.  A truly inspirational man and class act whose main concern was always his wonderful family.  My sympathies to all of them.

Brother - we knew this day would come eventually, but one can never be prepared.  Our hearts are broken in pieces.  There are a million things we could list that we are going to miss about you, and albeit true, we knew that you fought harder and longer than anyone possibly could.  It was time for you to be able to rest your mind and body and be at peace.  We are beyond thrilled that you and Mike spent the day together Saturday and that you enjoyed your zucchini flowers.  We were going through some pictures last night and Mike and I both printed out the same picture not knowing.  It was the one from when we went to Disney and it was your birthday.  We were in the food court when they announced it was your birthday.  They gave you a sash of Mickey Mouse stickers and you wore it proudly as you waived to the guests like you were on a float in the Thanksgiving Day Parade.  Liz and I laughed until we cried.  Thank you for being the best uncle to our kids.  You have always been and will continue to be Gianna's biggest fan.  She loved having you at her games.  I know you wanted to attend them all and how much you wanted to see her play in college.  From this day forward, you will never miss a game.  You will be with her every step of the way, watching every game, and we know she will feel your presence.  You have such a special bond with "little" Michael.  He loved all the teasing, joking around, "special" words you taught him and just spending time with you.  What a tremendous gift to have you as an uncle.  As for Mike and I, well, he has a lifetime of memories with you.  Something he will hold in his heart for the rest of his life.  You are his best friend and his hero.  Not a day will go by that he will not miss you immensely, but we have ways to keep you alive in what we do everyday.  I am truly honored to call you my brother-in-law.  You are one of the most special, caring people I have ever had the pleasure to have in my life and I am blessed to call you family.  You will always have a huge place in my heart and I will always treasure our relationship.  Until we meet again, we will, look forward to all the signs you will be sending us that you are right by our side(s), keep your memory alive every day and make you proud. My family and I will miss Bill.  I enjoyed countless nights at the top of the bleachers waiting for football practice to end talking to Bill.  I looked forward to getting there well before practice ended so I'd have time to talk to Bill and play with Chewy.  Likewise I'd enjoy spending time with Bill at games and sneaking a bit of Jameson's with him.
Tommy is so sorry he could not get here from school, we tried to find a way to get him here and there was no viable option.  He also loved Bill as did Andrea. My family and I will never forget him.
