William E. Magrino Jr., 57, died peacefully at his home in New Fairfield, CT. He bravely battled ALS for more than five years. Born in New Rochelle to the late Rose C. Magrino and William E. Magrino Sr. Billy was a devoted husband to his wife of 25 years, Elizabeth Magrino (nee O'Sullivan) and proud father of daughter, Michaela Marie, son William E. Magrino III. Brother to his sisters Mary Mazzoni and Camille Spiegler, brother, Michael Magrino, and adored uncle of 13 nieces and nephews.
Billy attended New Rochelle High School and enjoyed playing football, wrestling, and hanging out with his crew. After many years of knowing one another, he and Liz fell in love and married in 1993. They moved to New Fairfield where they made a home and lived in a community that Billy adored. Particularly in the most recent years, they were blessed with an incredible outpouring of love and support for which Billy was deeply grateful.
From a young age, Billy had an incredible work ethic and instilled his deeply held belief in the importance of hard work, integrity and strength of mind and body in his children. His greatest joy in life was spending time with Liz, Billy, Michaela, and their dog, Chewy. His great pride in his children was unmistakable, especially when he was on the sidelines cheering them on. Anyone who knew him knew he was always up for a chat, a good laugh and a cold beer. He was a superhero to all who knew him, with an extraordinary physical and mental strength that was rare and beautiful. His passion, kindness and charisma will be deeply missed.
