Suzanne Val Macdonald

Mrs. Macdonald was born in New York City, the beloved daughter of Joseph and Henrietta (Etta) Val. A graduate of Marymount School, New York City and Marymount College, Tarrytown, NY, she taught at the Marymount International School in Barcelona, Spain and in the New York City public school system. She later worked as an editor for the Golden Books Division of Western Publishing, where she authored several books in the Little Angel Series.

She was a resident of New Fairfield, CT for the past forty years and prior to that of Scarsdale, NY. She was a loving wife and doting mother, and a friend to all whom she met. Her engaging personality, selflessness, and quick sense of humor will be missed and remembered by all.

In addition to her adoring and dedicated husband of fifty-six years, she is survived by her two beholden sons, Douglas Macdonald of Los Angeles, CA and Scott Macdonald (and wife Mary Jane) of Larchmont, NY. She is also survived by her two grandchildren, Molly Henrietta and Edwin Scott, who provided great joy in her life as evidenced by the numerous photo albums always on-hand and ready to share. She was preceded in death by her best friend and sister, Rita Val Hughes.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am on Saturday February 13th at St. Edward the Confessor Roman Catholic Church, New Fairfield, CT., followed by interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY.
