Stephen was born in Danbury November 20, 1928, the son of the late Joseph and Dorothea (Burke) Gillotti. He was a graduate of the Danbury Trade School (now Henry Abbott Technical School) where he studied carpentry. Following trade school, Stephen served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He worked for many years as a mechanic with Bernie’s Texaco in Danbury, and later with Heli Coil, from where he retired. He was a parishioner of Saint Peter Church, Danbury.
In addition to his wife Barbara of 69 years, Stephen is survived by his sons: Andrew R. Gillotti and his wife Elvira of New Milford, and Stephen J. Gillotti and his partner Maureen of Cromwell, his daughters: Nancy Jean Gillotti of Danbury and Linda M. Gillotti of Bombay, FL, eight grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren, along with nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am on Wednesday June 9th at Saint Peter Church, Danbury. Burial with military honors will follow in Saint Peter Cemetery, Danbury.
The family will receive friends at the Green Funeral Home 57 Main Street, Danbury on Tuesday June 8th from 5 thru 8 pm. For those attending the visitation, the wearing of facemasks will be required.
