Robert L. Wolfe

Robert L. Wolfe, of New Fairfield, CT passed away on December 13, 2021 at the age of 94. Until his last day, he was a man whose immense character and physical strength were only surpassed by his compassion and love for his family.

Originally from Shickshinny, PA, after serving as a proud member of the US Navy during World War II, Bob moved to Norwalk, CT where he met and married the love of his life, Shirley (Brennan) Wolfe, and they raised their 3 children. He served as a Norwalk police officer for 23 years before retiring and moving to New Fairfield, CT where he lived for the last 40 years and working at various jobs, including for the Town of New Fairfield Health Department. In his spare time, he loved watching the NY Yankees, NASCAR, and old western movies, trout fishing, spending mornings at The Goodie Shoppe bakery, and especially spending time with family.

Bob was predeceased by his beloved wife and best friend, Shirley, to whom he was married for 53 years before her passing in 2001. In addition, he was predeceased by his mother, Edna Peters, his father, Richard (Dick) Wolfe, his brother, Carl Peters, and his daughter-in-law, Elva Wolfe.

He is survived by his 3 children: daughter Sharon Beers and husband Jeff, daughter Donna Maxam and husband Gary, and son Bob Wolfe. Additionally, he is survived by granddaughter Denise Cossari and husband Brian, grandson Steve Beers and wife Corinne, granddaughter Tara Casserly and husband Larry, and granddaughter Tambra Maxam. He is also survived by his 7 great grandchildren: Jack, Sam, Tyler, Emma, Gary, Fionnuala, and Walter.

By any measure, Bob was the role model of a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and hero to those he leaves behind.

There will be a small service for immediate family members only.
