Richie was born in Brooklyn, NY to Salvatore and Katherine Signorelli (née Durante) on September 24th, 1942. He is survived by his wife of 58 Years, Ann Signorelli (née Warttinger), his three children, Teresa S. Pisano (née Signorelli), Paul D. Signorelli, and Daniel J. Signorelli, and his four grandchildren, Julia, Jack, Jacob, and Shane Signorelli, his son-in-law Richard C. Pisano, Jr., his daughters-in-law Anabela Pereira and Salita Signorelli (née Sewsankar), his brother James Signorelli, his sisters-in-law Joanne Signorelli and Marianne Warttinger, and his nieces and nephews Mark Signorelli, Janice Loesner, Deborah Wagner, Patricia Daly, and Michael Warttinger.
Richie graduated from St. John’s University in Queens, NY with degrees in Chemistry. He began his career at IFF, then worked at Felton, and retired after working at Belmay, Co. for over three decades. Richie was the second industry professional to win the Eric Bruell award from the Fragrance Materials Association (FMA) of the United States and was the chair of the FMA Analysis Committee.
Richie loved being involved with his family and the community. He helped start and coached in the local soccer league in Merrick, NY where he and Ann raised their children. He also coached in their town CYO basketball league and his daughter’s travel soccer team.
Richie was an avid sailor and photographer. He served as a Board Member and Cruise Director of the Huntington Yacht Club. He enjoyed racing his and friends’ boats on the weekends, cruising Long Island Sound and New England in the summers, and hanging photos of his family’s adventures on the wall of their home.
Of all Richie’s life roles, his arguable best was that of a grandfather. His and Ann’s home was a veritable bed-and-breakfast for the grandkids. He took them fishing and golfing, went to their recitals and sporting events, and had many fun phone and text exchanges regularly.
