Maria J. DaMota

Maria Jermana (Furtado) Damota born 05/10/1933, passed away peacefully Sunday May, 1st 2016; with her family by her side. Maria born in Sao Miquel, Azores (Covoada) was the daughter of Jacinto and Conceicao Furtado. Formerly of Danbury, Maria later in life resided in Bellingham, MA. Maria was a dedicated employee of 19 years at American Cyanamid/ Davis and Geck before retiring. Maria loved to cook and enjoyed watching soccer with her husband; Maria loved spending time with all of her family. Maria was predeceased by 3 brothers Jacinto, Manuel, and Gilbert. Maria leaves behind a loving husband of 61 years Anotnio F. Damota. Daughter, Ilda Damota-Dillon Viteri and her husband Byron and Maria’s son Antonio Damota Jr and his wife Helena. Maria also leaves behind grandchildren Henrique P. Marques III, Vienna A. Marques, Tania L. Damota, Jeremiah Damota and great granddaughter, Savannah Esteves. Family and friends are encouraged to call at Green funeral Home Thursday May, 5th 2016 at 5 pm. Funeral services will be held the following morning at 10:30 am at Immaculate Heart of Mary in Danbury, CT. Entombment will follow at St. Peters Cemetery Danbury, CT.
