She was raised in Szakony, Hungary and was the daughter of Josef Bogothy and Emma (Boros) and her biological mother Julianna (Baranyai) Foki. She was a school teacher when she met her husband of 67 years, Ferenc Ipkovich. They immigrated in 1957 to the United States after the 1956 Hungarian Revolution.
They lived in New Jersey where all four of her children were born and then moved to Danbury in 1972. She worked many years at Davis & Geck and then at Gavigan Electronics. All her friends and coworkers enjoyed the kindness, laughter and the compassion she always gave. Her family knows her as a devoted mother and grandmother who would do anything for them. She was a fantastic baker and cook. Her Dios Kalács, Pogacsa and Zserbo were legendary and were known from Connecticut to Afghanistan. She loved to travel the U.S. National Parks and in Europe. She especially enjoyed keeping in touch with her many friends from Hungary, Arizona, New Jersey and her co-workers.
She is reunited with her 17 year old son, Frank, who passed away in 1975.
Her loving surviving children are: Nancy (DJ) Valdez; Shirley Foley; Andrew (Tracy) Ipkovich. Her joy was her grandchildren and great grandchildren: Miklos (Lauren) Valdez, parents of Zoe and Xander of Bloomfield Hills, MI. Emilio Valdez of Lago Vista, TX. Jakob Valdez of Austin, TX. Alexandria Ipkovich of Brooklyn, NY. and Joshua Ipkovich of Brookfield, CT.
All of her family will forever be grateful for the positive influence and love that she gave us.
