Edward was born in Danbury, CT, the son of the late Harold R. and Margaret (Keane) Grimm of 8 McDermont Street. He attended St. Peter’s school and was a 1961 graduate of Danbury High School.
Edward was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local union #488 for over 50 years.
Edward was a member of Wooster Hose Company #5 in Danbury and the Bethel Volunteer Fire Department, where he held the rank of Lieutenant, and was one of the first Emergency Medical Technicians to serve the community. He was proud of his Irish heritage and enjoyed the festivals in the New England area. You could also find him at his grandchildren’s sporting events. Edward loved spending time in New Hampshire.
Edward is survived by his sons: Edward W. Grimm, Jr and his wife, Lisa Merola-Grimm, of Kensington, CT and Michael J. Grimm and his wife, Lisa Grimm, of Watertown, CT. His grandchildren: Casey, Brian and Joshua. His sisters: Margaret McNamara of Brookfield, CT and Mary Visconti and husband, Fred, of Danbury CT.
He is also survived by nieces Peggy, Marybeth and Amy and nephew David all of whom he loved very much.
Edward is predeceased by his brother-in-law, William McNamara, Jr. and nephew William McNamara III.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am on Friday, April 14, 2023, at St. Peter Church, Danbury, CT. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury.
Friends will be received from 4:00pm - 7:00pm on Thursday, April 13, 2023, at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury.
