Claire Pinette Foley 76, of Danbury Ct, formally of New Fairfield, died peacefully Sunday evening surrounded by her loving family. She rejoined her husband in heaven, Michael who was taken too early from her 19 years ago. Claire was born in White Plains, NY and lost her parents at a very early age. She had one sister Genevieve Manco who currently resides in Florida and a brother Peter Pinette of New York who predeceased her.
She loved and treasured her son Michael and his wife Robin of Danbury, her daughter Patricia Williams and her husband Alan of New Milford and her daughter Maryann (Rueny) Smith and her husband Joe of Brookfield. She lit up with pride at her grandchildren, Heather Mitchell and her husband James, April McBride, Megan Foley, Joseph, Caitlin and Jonathan Smith and her great grandchildren, Matt, Chloe and Abby Mitchell, and Chase Williams.
Claire and Mike, or “Dude” as she would say, loved square dancing, and camping. Winters spent by the beaches in Florida were enjoyed for many years where Claire had the opportunity to visit with her best friend Grace, her buddy for over 50 years. It was also in Florida that they brought home Sandy, their puppy that they both loved, and was Claire’s companion throughout the years.
Claire was a parishioner of St. Gregory the Great, Roman Catholic Church in Danbury. Unfortunately her health issues kept her home, but she watched the Mass daily on tv. She looked forward to Deacon Bob’s weekly visits in celebration of the Eucharist.
Thinking of Claire gives you a warm feeling all over. Her family asks that you be happy for their mom and grandmother, that she is finally free of pain and truly resting in peace. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her, but we will remember her smile, her laugh, and her unique sense of humor.
Until we meet again, know we love you Nana…..
