Carol lannaccone Crimi of Fairfield, 59, passed away peacefully on February 17th, at the Hospital for Special Care in Hartford with her loving family and friends by her side. Carol was born on June 24, 1952, a daughter of the late Louis & Julia (DeMaio) lannaccone of Norwalk.
Carol is survived by an Uncle & Aunt (Frank & Beatrice Zullo-Norwalk) Her Loving Cousins :Barbara & Joe Salvato(Brookfield) Guy & Vivien DeMaio(Orange), Paula & Ross Madden(Norwalk), Nick & MindyDeMaio(Shelton), David & Lisa DeMaio(Naugatuck), Leslie Zullo(Norwalk) and the Iannacone Family cousins of Norwalk,12 great cousins and 2 great- great cousins , 3 Godchildren and many beloved friends. A loving Stepdaughter Mary Crimi (Kip), and step-children Tom (Charlene) Fred (Alix), Peter (Maria) William (Gwen), Joe (Jill),16 step-grandchildren,1 great step-child. Carol was predeceased by her husband Fred J. Crimi. Carol became a Sunday School Teacher in 1966 at St. Jerome Norwalk. Carol also was very involved in the Gaslight & Greasepaint Co. in her teen years. Carol was a graduate of CCHS- Norwalk in 1970, West Conn University with a Teaching Degree and A Who's Who Amoung Students in 1973, University Of Bridgeport with a Masters of Science in 1978. A Masters in Counseling & Human Resources STATE of CT License & CT License for American Mental Health Counselor Association. Carol was a volunteer with the American Red Cross in 1991. Certificate of Citizen's Police Academy - Bridgeport in 1993. A diploma for Course of Study Writing for Children and Teenagers at Institute of Children's Literature in 1999. A Honor Member for Social Services Consultant at Cambridge Who's Who in 2008. A Conflict resolution Training in Divorce Mediation in 2011. A certificate CT Socially Speaking for Young Children with Autisim and Special Needs in 2011.
Carol was a State of CT Professional & Family Group counselor with Clinical Counseling Skills, a Resident Services Coordinator for the Elderly and Disabled at Twin Towers II in Bridgeport, Prospect Gardens, Sunset Shores in Stratford. Carol loved her family and friends and touched the lives of everyone she came in contact with. Carol loved her pets, holidays, music, shopping, movies, butterflies and snow globes. She was an avid reader and writer often helping her family and friends with their special occasions.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Philip Church, Norwalk, on Tuesday morning at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery, Norwalk. Friends may call at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury, on Monday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers: Memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Research Foundation, 1701 N. Beauregard St., Alexandria, VA 22311.
