Tony was born in Danbury, son of the late Joseph and Katherine (Gallo) Gillotti. He graduated from Henry Abbott Tech in 1952 and entered the Navy the day after graduation. He served during the Korean Conflict aboard the USS Requiste GS-18 and the USS Canisteo-99, until 1956, as a boiler man with four years active duty. He was a lifelong Yankee fan and played the fife with the Danbury Hatters Drum Corps, for many years. He worked for Amphenol Corp, before being medically retired after 20 years.
In addition to his wife Edith, he is survived by his son Michael Gillotti (Frances) of Newtown, his brothers, Roy Gillotti (Maryann) of New Fairfield, Joseph Gillotti, Jr (Phyllis) and Gary Gillotti of Vermont, three step-children, Gary Gerell (Wendy), of New Fairfield, Sharon Winn of Winsted and Alison Farrell (Bill) of Washington Depot. He was predeceased by his son Anthony Gillotti, Jr.
Funeral services will be held at Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury, on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Peter Cemetery. Family and friends may call at Green Funeral Home on Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
