Wortie Joan Isaacs

Wortie Joan Isaacs, 82, of McKinney, Texas, entered her Heavenly home on Saturday, September 17, 2022. She was born on November 4, 1939, in Athens, Georgia, to the late B.R. & Jimmie Lou (Dudley) Coleman. At age 24, she met and married her lifelong love and soulmate, Max Isaacs. They would soon start their adventures of traveling around the world together, with their first stop in San Diego, California.

Joan and Max traveled and lived all around the world including China, Norway, and Africa, to name a few. Their world travels was a way of life for them, as they relished all that life had to offer wherever they were – as long as they were together. The experiences shared and people they met along the way helped shape them into the most caring, kind, and dynamic couple. Joan and Max were truly one – their thoughts, beliefs, values, and commitment to serving each other and others was truly remarkable. They were the perfect role models of lasting love in the 50+ years of marriage they shared.

Joan had an overwhelming passion to take care of others, and had a heart to care for the sick. Her gift of mercy and grace shared with others brought Joan joy and reward throughout her life. She cherished her faith and relationship with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and spent many years sharing her faith as a Sunday School teacher and children’s and youth choir director, which she enjoyed well into her 70s. Joan used her skills of crocheting to gift countless blankets and outfits for newborns over the years – again, another way she served others so selflessly. She was also known as the family and church fellowship cook!

In her pursuit to love and serve others, it was no surprise that Joan was a wonderful mother and wife. She lived for taking care of her family and her home. Joan was an impeccable housekeeper, seamstress, and cook, and took pride in those things. She was the family prayer warrior, praying for her family continuously and instilling the importance of a strong faith. Her unwavering faith, even in her suffering, was inspiring and she leaves behinds a legacy of love, faith, grace, and mercy that will be greatly missed.

Joan will be laid to rest next to her dearest Max at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery.
