Our beautiful mother, Wanda Turrill passed away on August 27, 2019 at her home after a long illness. She recently celebrated her 90th birthday with family. Her passion was always her family. She encouraged all of us to live our best life, and to always be kind to people. She wrote poetry for years, and the following poem is one of many published in the National Library of Poetry.
SEASONS WITH YOU
Because of you I saw the sun,
I watched the flowers grow.
I watched the tiny raindrops fall
Upon the earth below.
Because of you I watched the trees
Change colors in the fall.
And as each leaf fell to the ground;
A memory I recalled.
Because of you I loved to see
The snowflakes coming down;
And the winters never seemed so cold;
Because you were around.
Because of you there was a spring,
All a new beginning,
Each season always brought us joy;
From beginning to the ending.
Its winter now and I miss your warmth;
Your smile, your tender touch;
And all the beautiful seasons
We both loved so much.
