Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that Wanda touched in some small way throughout her short, yet very memorable way.
Her broad smile, whimsical manner brought so much joy to or for family. She loved to cook, dance and sew. She also loved being surrounded by family and friends during each holiday season. She could spend hours doing her special cooking. She loved music....Stevie Ray Vaughn, Al Green, Bobbie Bland, and B.B. King among a few.
Wanda J. Salter was born in Dallas, Texas, January 12, 1947 at St. Paul's Hospital, to father: Jeffie Graham, mother: Virginia King Graham. Wanda was married to Floyd Lee Salter of whom one son, Floyd LeSean was born (Deceased July, 1987).
Wanda is survived by loving family: Cousin: Rico Hunt, Weena Davis, LaVera Lucas, Marilyn Hightower, Lolita Hunt Dilworth, and Gertrude Graham. Numerous cousins: Diane King, Gwen King, Deniene King, Darryl King and Eric King. Shirley(Ulysses); Mary Hollis, La-Shica Velazquez(Eric); 2 brother-in-laws. A half-brother of Phoenix, AZ.
Janice King, Sharon King, Ernest King, Jr., Gary King. Sister-in-laws: Artis Turner, Shirley(Ulysses), Mary Hollis. Special niece: LaShica Velazquez(Eric), who influenced her career with Wal-Mart Stores. Ellen King Mitchell(Paul).
She had lifelong friends to name only a few: Thelma, Dee, Jackie, and Debra Clark.
Wanda was preceded in death by her son: Floyd LeSean Salter: mother, Virginia King Graham, father, Jeffie Graham, uncle, J.W. Graham, two uncles; also, Ernest King, Sr., Fred S. King, Lester King, Grady King, Jr., aunts: Dorothy Hunt, Katherine King Hinton. Grandparents: Mr. & Mrs. Graham, Grady & Luvina King.
Wanda worked at Southwestern Bell Telephone (AT&T) for over 20 years (Retired); then worked for over 15 years at Wal-Mart stores. She was affiliated with the Jehovah Witness Church in the Dallas, Texas area for the greater portion of her adult life.
