Mr. Tommy Lee Jackson was born on May 9, 1943, in Gilmer, Texas to the parentage of Willie Lee Jackson and Effie Mae Creddle, who both preceded him in death. He accepted Christ at East Spring Missionary Baptist Church at an early age. He received his education through the Gilmer Independent School District. He enlisted in the United States Army for four years earning an honorable discharge. He then went on to work for Lone Star Industries, Inc. Cement Plant from where he retired. He enjoyed working out (and TALKING) at the DeSoto Town Center, shopping at his favorite store Sam’s and collecting Dallas Cowboys memorabilia amongst other things.
Tommy was preceded in death by his siblings Ulysses Jackson, Jessie L. Jackson, R.C. Jackson, Rosa L. Jackson, Willie L. Jackson Jr., Elvin O.C. Jackson.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 47 years Essie Jackson of DeSoto, TX, two sons Kevin Jackson of Ft. Worth, TX and Willie Jackson of Houston, TX and one daughter Makisha Sanders (Benny) of Waxahachie, TX. His pride and joy were his grandchildren Ravin Jackson (Cardell), Christopher Clark (Madelyn), Cameron Clark, Somer Clark, Wynter Clark and Xavier Jackson and his great-grandchildren Rylie Henry, Amara Clark and Anaya Clark. He also leaves to cherish his memories a host of special nieces and nephews that he treated as his own, special sisters in law Sherry McPhaul and Elaine Hooper and brother in law Donald Hooper (Teresa) with a host of friends and family.
