He moved to San Antonio in 1945 where he and Marian (Ring) were married at St. Mark's Episcopal Church. Ted began work as a government purchasing agent and retired as Chief Procurement Officer from Kelly AF Base, after more than 30 years of service. He was President of the San Antonio Purchasing Management Association and Director for National Affairs. He also served as President of the Northwest Chapter 1320 NFRFE and was Travel Chairman for 19 years. After retirement he and Marian moved to London and traveled throughout Europe and Asia. Ted had caught the travel bug and after returning to San Antonio he began a new career in the travel industry. For the next 20 years he conducted and escorted tours all over the world. Ted and Marian also traveled on their own, spending summers in Ireland, Colorado and California. But his beloved San Antonio, where he was a member of Alamo Heights Presbyterian Church, was always home base. He and Marian relocated to Dallas in 2006. Ted is survived by his wife of 70 years, Marian, and daughters Cynthia (Bob) and Susan (Tony), granddaughters Naomi (Todd) and Abbi (Adam), grandson J. R., great grandchildren, Aiden, Arin, Austin and Ava.
Memorial Services will be held Saturday, December 5 at 10am at Northwest Highway Chapel in Sparkman Hillcrest Funeral Home.
