Stanley M. Josephson, 86, passed away peacefully, June 29, 2020, with his loving wife of 58 years and two daughters by his side. Stan was born March 21, 1934 in San Antonio, Texas to Henry and Rosetta Samuel Josephson. After graduating from Texas A&M Univ. with degrees in Geology and Sociology, he earned an MS in Mathematics from NYU. Stan retired as a Major from the U.S. Army Reserves. Stan’s professional career began in New York with IBM, working on the early development of computerized data processing models. In 1961 he moved to Phoenix, AZ for a position with GE’s Information Processing business as Mgr. of Product Development, Sr. Systems Analyst. There he met and married his wife and had two daughters. In 1967 the family moved to Dallas, TX, when Stan accepted a position as Director of Banking Development with University Computer Company. He subsequently joined Republic Bank (later Nations Bank), serving as SVP of Management Information Systems, where he remained until retirement. In later years, Stan took various consulting projects, including several years with Midland Bank in London. He also founded Payment Systems Technology to develop coded, automated check processing. Stan was always looking for ideas for a new invention. A true nature lover and outdoorsman, he was a bird expert and adept fisherman. He even trained a few backyard doves to peck on a window for peanuts. Those fortunate enough to know Stan will always remember him for his integrity, quick wit, amazing intellect, patience and above all, love and devotion to family. Stan is survived by his wife, Valerie; daughters, Leigh Salvo (Andrew Gregor), Nancy Josephson; grandchildren, Isabella Salvo and Domenic Salvo, who will always remember their Papsy; sister Beverly Shifrin, brothers Leonard (Donna) Josephson, Frederick (Dianne) Josephson. A gathering of family and friends is planned for a later date.
