She still pushed through and studied at Texas College in Tyler and graduated from Education America of Dallas, TX. She spent the next countless years battling this illness. She took chemo therapy and various treatments. Shortly after, her kidneys started to decline where she would soon begin taking dialysis and was placed on the Kidney transplant list. She received her new kidneys on January 21, 2007. Staci was in and out of the hospital most of her life. In 2017 she was placed in a nursing home due to her failing health. She stayed encouraged and was determined not to let her body keep her down. A year later she went on to live at somewhat normal life at Assist Living Facility of Simpson Place. She participated in paint classes, Bingo, card games and still regularly attended Church services. Staci was truly loved there. She was part of the committee on celebrations, parties and blessed them with her famous guacamole and taco salad. She has helped the cafeteria with the orders from the residence. She also would sell her kool-aid pickles and can sodas. In 2020, Staci was placed back on dialysis due to her failing kidneys.
She loved attending various events, such as Birthday parties, football and basketball games. She loved taking daily selfies to capture her lovely lashes, dancing, shopping, listening to music and making makeup tutorials stating “ this is my face” or just sharing her day on Facebook live. She also shared her love of seafood with her sister where they would go to numerous seafood restaurants. Staci’s favorite color was pink and her favorite holiday was Christmas. She didn’t have much but she wanted to make sure she was able to shower people with gifts. She loved her family. She was always willing to assist them any way she could. She would get up early in the morning to start getting ready to show up at family and friends gathering. She loved caring for her niece and nephews when they were younger.
