Sarah Roppolo Salvato went to be with her Heavenly Father on February 23, 2021. Sarah was born in Marlin, Texas, on June 10, 1925, to Rose Labarbera and Joe Roppolo, who immigrated to Texas from Sicily in the early 1900’s. Sarah was the fifth of six children, born into a very close and loving family. She met the handsome Frank Salvato shortly after graduating from high school and they married June 4, 1944.
Frank and Sarah moved to Dallas and started a grocery business. Frank started and enjoyed many successful businesses, including several years as a home builder, during which Sarah helped with the interior design and decorating for new homes. Sarah also started several businesses and enjoyed many interests of her own. She worked the apparel markets for many years and made lifelong friends there. She and her sons started several Texas memorabilia and sports souvenir shops in the West End and NorthPark Center. Frank and Sarah were also very involved in St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church and school, and were early members of the parish community. Sarah was an active member of the Catholic Daughters.
Sarah was fun-loving, happy, caring, kind, and could make you feel like you were the most important person in the room.
Sarah is preceded in death by her husband Frank, her daughter Denise Crouch, her son Jerry Salvato, her parents Joe and Rose Roppolo, her brother Nick Roppolo, and sisters Pauline Meuse, Cora Falsone, Mary Martin, and Frances Palasota. She is survived by a family who adored her; daughter Rosemarie Allen, son, Frank Salvato Jr., daughter-in -law Marie, Salvato and son-in-law Virgil Crouch. She was so proud of her nine grandchildren, Nicole, Alicia, John, Amanda, Jessica, Andrea, Anthony, Joey and Jeremy, and her nine great grandchildren, Cade, Cody, Will, Sam, Ryan, Dylan, Michael, Madeline, and Olivia.
Sarah was fun-loving, happy, caring, kind, and could make you feel like you were the most important person in the room. She was a woman of faith and loved generously. She will be missed and her memory will live in our hearts forever.
